We are excited to announce the Mega Event 2020 keynote speaker is Duncan Wardle, Former Head of Innovation & Creativity at Walt Disney Company. Duncan brings an energy and enthusiasm for innovation and will provide tactical ways to REIMAGINE the Real Estate industry.

As Head of Innovation and Creativity at Disney, Duncan and his team helped Imagineering, Lucasfilm, Marvel, Pixar and Disney Parks to innovate, creating magical new storylines and experiences for consumers around the globe.

He now brings his extensive Disney experience to audiences around the world using a unique approach to Design Thinking, helping people capture unlikely connections, leading to fresh thinking and disruptive ideas.

Delivering a series of keynotes, workshops and ideation forums, his unique Innovation toolkit helps companies embed a culture of innovation into everyone’s DNA.

Duncan is a multiple Ted X speaker and contributor to Fast Company, Forbes & the Harvard Business Review. He teaches innovation Master Classes at Yale, University of North Carolina and University of Florida. In 2008 he received the American Citizen of Choice Award at the White House. He holds an Hons. MBA and Hons. Doctorate from Edinburgh University. He also holds the Duke of Edinburgh Award presented by Her Majesty, Queen Elizabeth.

The Carolinas Chapter Mega Event 2020 is being planned as an in-person event. The Chapter leadership and the Events committee will continue to monitor the COVID situation and the impact on this year’s event and will follow guidelines to ensure everyone’s safety.  “Plan B” will be to hold a 100% virtual Mega Event.  This may alter the event schedule, number of breakout sessions and require all presentations be made remotely through a virtual platform.

Over the past decade real estate users have pushed for a denser workplace with enhanced amenities.  Covid-19 has left a major impact on health, the economy, our way of life and the way we work among many other items.  Mandated work from home is impacting businesses and their real estate strategy. 

Acknowledging that this global event has been so disruptive, all aspects of Corporate Real Estate have been impacted.  It will take creativity, innovation and thinking “outside the box” to address the changes that are bound to happen in Corporate Real Estate.

We are seeking proposals that share meaningful ideas and solutions that came out of innovative thinking.  Mega Event breakout sessions will be designed to focus on how innovation has helped to address issues related to Corporate Real Estate, specifically addressing how COVID-19 will change the work environment and processes.  What physical changes have been made, what safeguards’ have been put in place, how do you expect the future of workspace and/or landlord requirements to be impacted?  Describe the thought process behind the planning, protocols that are in place and/or planned for future implementation.  


  • The most popular breakout sessions will showcase real life successes, lessons learned, and insight into the future of CRE.
  • What problems are you facing, how have they been addressed and are there any findings/outcomes?
  • If you are a service provider, how have you incorporated your client in the proposal and/or presentation?
  • What are the benefits to the audience (Corporate Real Estate Executives and Leaders)?
