12/07/17 - Raleigh, NC -- December Networking with a Mission

On January 11th, CoreNet Carolinas members in the Raleigh area met at Vidrio in the downtown area. The beautiful location allowed for great networking and catching up with friends and peers. A good crowd came out to help us start 2018 off right as we look forward to a great year for both our industry and our association.

 

 

12/06/17 - Charlotte, NC -- December Networking with a Mission

CoreNet Carolinas rang in the holidays in Charlotte on December 6th at Draught Restaurant and Bar! The last networking event of the year was a great success with plenty of networking and catching up with friends and peers. A large bundle of toys was collected for the Marine Toys for Tots drive and CoreNet provided the Marines with a check for $1,000.

11/16/17 - Charlotte, NC -- 2nd Annual Carolinas CORE Awards

The Carolinas Chapter of CoreNet Global hosted our second annual CORE Awards for the Carolinas on November 16th at the NASCAR Hall of Fame. A tremendous crowd joined us for the evening as we celebrated the excellence and effectiveness of CRE professionals and the CRE industry in the Carolinas.

 

 

11/02/17 - Raleigh, NC -- Technology & the User-Centric Workplace

Thank you to everyone who came out on November 2nd to the MetLife building in Cary to participate in our discussion on how technology impacts the workplace today and how we can expect to see the physical and digital worlds collide, molding corporate workplaces of the future. Attendees were also treated to a tour of the MetLife campus.

 

 

10/12/17 - Raleigh, NC --Annual Pumpkin Carving Contest

A great crowd turned up at Crank Arm Brewing in Raleigh on October 12th for our annual Pumpkin Carving Contest. Sponsored by the Young Leaders, event attendees enjoyed networking with peers, friendly competition, light food, and cocktails. Thank you to everyone who came out and supported our last Raleigh Young Leader event of 2017!

 

 

10/11/17 - Charlotte, NC -- Networking with a Mission

Thank you to everyone who came out to our Mega Event on Wednesday, September 13th at the Ritz-Carlton in Uptown Charlotte. Paul DePodesto provided an insightful plenary session on how "Big Data" can positively influence your business; and our breakout sessions were filled with timely discussions on change, innovation and collaboration. Thank you to all of our sponsors and to everyone who came out and enjoyed this essential industry event!

 

 

9/13/17 - Charlotte, NC -- 2017 Mega Event

Thank you to everyone who came out to Sycamore Brewing in Charlotte on October 11th and joined our Young Leaders and the Community Outreach Committee for a fun and well-attended partnered event! We enjoyed good company and a beautiful evening while decorating pumpkins for a good cause - all of the pumpkins were decorated and donated to Ronald McDonald House!

 
 
8/24/17 - Raleigh, NC -- Raleigh Program - Crayons2Calculators

On Thursday, August 24th, CoreNet members came together to help organize and stock Durham's Crayons2Calculators warehouse as they prepared for their grand opening day of the fall school season. CoreNet also made a donation of $1,125 to Crayons2Calculators. Thank you to everyone who came out to help and support this outstanding community service event.

 

 

8/16/17 - Charlotte, NC -- Charlotte CRC - Sweat Equity - Beds for Kids

Thank you to everyone who came out on August 16th to perform a variety of service projects for Beds for Kids, a not-for-profit organization that provides beds to children and families in need in the Charlotte area. Members cleaned furniture, moved and staged furniture, and helped organize and pack bed linens. CoreNet Carolinas made a donation of $1,000 to Beds for Kids.

 

 

8/03/17 - Raleigh, NC -- Raleigh Workplace Genesis

On August 3rd at the Blue Cross Blue Shield offices in Durham, CoreNet members, speakers and guests explored the intersections of social evolution and emerging technologies in the past, present, and future at our Workplace Genesis event. Our speakers presented a lively discussion of how these intersections have, are, and will shape our workplace.

 

 

7/12/17 - Charlotte, NC -- Charlotte Program - Lean Construction

On July 12th, Bevan Mace, Balfour Beatty's Lean expert, provided an overview of Lean design and project delivery principles. He discussed the goal of Lean Construction - maximizing value and minimizing waste - and provided an overview of a case study showcasing how Lean can improve participant's projects. The Business Journal's Ashley Fahey wrote a piece on the event.

 

 

6/24/17 - Charlotte, NC -- Charlotte Networking with a Mission: Habitat for Humanity

CoreNet members rolled up their sleeves and put their DIY skills to good use on June 24th assisting Habitat for Humanity with one of their home build projects in Charlotte. Volunteers spent the day working on a variety of construction needs, including hanging sheet rock within the interior of the home. Thank you to everyone who came out to support Habitat and help CoreNet give back to our community.

 
6/08/17 - Raleigh, NC -- Raleigh Young Leaders Event - Cornhole Tournament

The DPR offices in Raleigh played host to our June 8th Raleigh Young Leaders Event - Cornhole Tournament. Twelve teams battled it out in friendly competition for bragging rights.  Everyone enjoyed a great night of networking with colleagues and peers and catching up with friends.  Thank you to DPR for hosting and thank you to everyone who came out in support of this great Young Leader event.  Watch for information on our next event coming soon.

 

6/07/17 - Charlotte, NC -- Charlotte Young Leaders Event - Cornhole Tournament

Thank you to all of the members and guests who came out to our June 7th Charlotte Young Leader Event - Cornhole Tournament. VBGB played host to our tournament where attendees enjoyed a beautiful evening of networking with friends and peers and engaging in friendly cornhole competition.  Watch the website, upcoming events emails and newsletter for details on our next event.

5/17/17 - Raleigh, NC -- Annual Golf and Tennis Tournament

Once again, our sponsor appreciation event and most popular outing of the year did not disappoint. Our sold out golf and tennis tournament treated participants to a beautiful day of friendly competition and networking amongst friends and peers at the Grandover Resort & Spa in Greensboro. 5/04/17 - Raleigh, NC -- The Future of Coworking

Thank you to everyone who came out on May 4th to Industrious for "The Future of Coworking" event. A strong crowd enjoyed local and global perspectives on coworking user-needs and design from panelists Jason Widen of Forward Impact, Melissa Sayre from Industrious and Alison Briggs from Gensler. At the end of the event, attends were treated to a tour of the Industrious work space.

 

4/26/17 - Charlotte, NC -- Coworking: An Office Revolution

On April 26th, CoreNet Carolinas members and guests gathered at the Foundation for the Carolinas in Uptown Charlotte for a panel discussion addressing how coworking has exploded on the office scene and is no longer a use limited to start-up companies. The expert panel provided key insights to this growing segment of office market. Thank you to everyone who came out and supported this event.

 

4/19/17 - Charlotte, NC -- Networking with a Mission Classroom Central

Thank you to everyone who came out on Wednesday, April 19th to Draught for our second Networking with a Mission event for 2017. This time we collected school supplies for Classroom Central.  Items collected during the night included loose leaf paper, composition books, crayons, colored pencils, and erasers. Also at the event, CoreNet Carolinas also made a $1,000 donation to Classroom Central.

 

Spacer image4/06/17 - Raleigh, NC -- Habitat for Humanity

On April 6th, the Raleigh CRC held their Habitat for Humanity service project.  Carolinas chapter members put their DIY skills to good use for a good cause, working on one of the many Habitat for Humanity home projects. Thank you to everyone who came out to support this great event for a great cause.  At the end of the day, CoreNet Carolinas also presented Habitat with a check for $2,000.


 

3/08/17 - Charlotte, NC -- Charlotte Reverse Mentoring

Thank you to everyone who came out for the March 8th Reverse Mentoring event at the Broken Spoken in Charlotte; the event was well attended and provided an excellent opportunity for cross-generational understanding. Taylor Bredow of Balfour Beatty, Zach Simpson of Savills Studley and Max Gebhart of Network Cabling Systems all offered their perspectives into the unique workplace needs of the millennial workforce.

 

Spacer image3/08/17 - Raleigh, NC -- Raleigh Reverse Mentoring

On March 8th, the Young Leaders hosted the Raleigh Reverse Mentoring event at Big Boss Brewing Company.  An ample crowd came out to listen to Caitlin Shelby of Wood Partners, Ana Marshall of Red Hat, George Hining of MHA Works Architecture, and Matt Wall of DPR Construction provided their unique perspectives into cross-generational workspace needs.  Thank you to everyone who came out to enjoy this informative and engaging event.

 

2/15/17 - Charlotte, NC -- Charlotte Networking with a Mission

Thank you to the CoreNet Carolinas CRC Committee for all that they put into the planning and execution of the February 15th event at Draught in Charlotte. With over 70 people in attendance, 238 pounds of canned food collected and $120.00 in onsite monetary donations made, the event was a huge success. CoreNet Carolinas also provided a donation of $1000 to the Second Harvest Food Bank of Metrolina.

 

2/2/17 - Raleigh- 2017 Political Changes and the Real Estate Community

On February 2nd, Joe Stewart, Executive Director of the NC Free Enterprise Foundation addressed a large crowd of attendees on Lenovo’s campus in Morrisville. Stewart explained the outcome of recent elections and how the recent changes in the political arena may impact the real estate community. Thanks to Lenovo for sharing your beautiful facility with the chapter!

 

01/17/17 - Charlotte, NC -- 7th Annual Economic Update

On January 17th at the Foundation for the Carolinas, we hosted John E. Connaughton, Ph.D., Professor of Economics at UNCC Belk College of Business and Director of the Barings/UNC Charlotte Economic Forecast, which is recognized as the leading source of economic information for North Carolina. Dr. Connaughton presented our 7th Annual Economic Update to a full house of members and guests.

 

01/05/17 - Raleigh, NC -- 2017 Raleigh Kick-Off

Members, sponsors and guests from across the Carolinas rang in the new year on Thursday, January 5th at one of Raleigh's coziest dining spots, Gallo Pelon. A strong crowd started 2017 off right by gathered together for an evening of great conversation, cocktails + hors d'oeuvres.  The event was also an opportunity for CoreNet Carolinas to recruit new members into the organization.  Thank you to everyone who came out and joined us!
