On May 9th, the Carolinas Chapter hosted a fast-paced and thought-provoking discussion at Pinehurst Resort in Pinehurst, NC on the employee workplace experience and smart building technology. 3/7/19 -- Raleigh, NC -- Strengthening Internal and External Client Relationships
Raleigh Young Leaders hosted a great event at SPACES at The Dillon with an interactive presentation by Nakira Carter of JLL. The workshop-style discussion focused on the soft skills required for providing exceptional client service, both internally and externally. We thank Nakira for a great evening and the information shared.
2/15/19 -- Charlotte, NC -- Charlotte Community Reinvestment Event
We extend our deepest thanks to the CoreNet volunteers who gave their time to help the Habitat for Humanity Restore in Charlotte. The group was involved in a variety of jobs including: unload donated household items, organize and clean donations, place items on the sales floor, maintain the cleanliness & organization of the store, and assist customers with carry-outs after purchase.
2/7/19 -- Beyond Raleigh - Economic Development Within the Triangle Region
Thank you for joining us while we heard Dwight Basset from Chapel Hill, Evan Stone from Cary, and Chris Johnson from Johnston County as they discussed the unprecedented growth occurring in their communities, and how their communities fit into the regional piece of the puzzle known as The Research Triangle Region. This forum gave us an inside look into the growth strategies for their individual communities.
1/23/19 -- Charlotte, NC -- 5G Connectivity’s Impact on Real Estate
Attendees networked and discussed the future of 5G connectivity and the impact it will have on Corporate Real Estate in the near future. Verizon Wireless network executive Frank Cairon, Airwavz Board Member Stuart Hicks, and Airwavz Co-Founder Mark Horinko provided great insight into this important topic. We thank everyone who attended this great program at the Foundation for the Carolinas in Charlotte.

Thank you to everyone who came out to our Networking with a Mission event December 11. We had over 60 attendees enjoy networking, appetizers and giving back to our community by supporting the charitable organization Partnership to End Homelessness. Abbie Szymanski, Executive Director of the organization attended and introduced the cause. Members and guests brought enough donations to fill two trucks.
12/5/18 -- Charlotte, NC -- Networking and Community Outreach for Marine Toys for Tots
CoreNet Carolinas rang in the holidays in Charlotte on December 5th at DPR Construction! The last networking event of the year was a great success with plenty of networking and catching up with friends and peers. Two Marines were onsite to help with collection and the chapter was able to collect a large bundle of toys.

11/7/18 - Raleigh, NC -- Work From Home vs. Office-Based Work Environments
CoreNet Global Carolinas held the Third Annual CORE Awards to honor individuals, projects and programs that are “Changing the Carolinas!” Over 350 attendees gathered at The Ritz-Carlton Charlotte for an evening of celebration and networking. The CORE Awards celebrates the professional successes and contributions of CoreNet members, leaders and constituents in the corporate real estate industry in the Carolinas region.
Thank you to everyone who came out to the Dillon Raleigh. The panelists did a great job discussing what human behaviors we seek to plan for, how we use workplace analytics methodologies to create applicable measurements, and the outcomes a corporations has yielded from them.
10/18/18 -- Raleigh, NC -- Kickin’ it with CoreNet – Battle for the CoreNet Kickball Title!
10/17/18 -- Charlotte, NC -- Charlotte Networking & Pumpkin Decorating
Raleigh Young Leaders hosted the first ever Kickball Game for CoreNet members and guests on Thursday, October 18th. It was a close game but ultimately the blue team came out victorious with a 7-6 final score. Attendees enjoyed Trolley Stop hot dogs, beers from Brices Brewing provided by Barringer Construction, and music by DJ Ryan. There was no shortage of laughs or competitive plays throughout the game. Make sure to join us next year as we continue the tradition!
During the networking event held at Birdsong Brewery, pumpkins were decorated and delivered to Ronald

On August 22nd, we hosted some of our Triad end user members for a luncheon at the Treehouse on BB&T's Leadership Institute campus in Greensboro. The lunch featured an engaging roundtable discussion of "Agile Real Estate: Empowering CRE Organizations to Support Dynamic Businesses."
08/09/18 - Raleigh, NC -- Raleigh Pieces and Parts OR a Technology Strategy?
On August 9th, CoreNet hosted a knowledge-sharing program on technology and how it can optimize the workplace. Through both the presentation and informal "Speed-Consulting," attendees learned how technology is functioning in the workspace now, what the future holds, and were able to ask specific questions about their workspace. Thank you to everyone who came out on Saturday, June 23rd for our annual Habitat for Humanity build day. Volunteers rolled up their sleeves, grabbed their tools and worked throughout the morning and afternoon constructing a solid frame for a new Charlotte home.

On May 3rd, Knoll's Vice President of Workplace Research & Strategy Tracy Wymer treated event guests to insights from a recent publication that explored the roots of information age campus planning. The strong crowd walked away with examples of what some of the hottest tech areas are doing with their campus planning and how to improve upon it. 04/18/18 - Charlotte, NC -- Beds for Kids
On April 18th a large group of volunteers showed up at the Beds for Kids warehouse in Southend to donate their time and energy to a great cause. Beds for kids provides essential beds and furniture to children and their families in need. Volunteers spent the day cleaning furniture, moving and staging furniture, and helping organize and pack bed linens.

A good crowd joined us on March 21st at the offices of Little in Charlotte to hear Carlie Bullock-Jones, LEED Fellow, WELL AP, and the founder and managing Principal of Ecoworks Studio, discuss building a business case around WELL, the leading tool for advancing health and well-being in buildings globally.

On February 22nd, the chapter hosted a group of ten local real estate executives at a round-table discussion to share how agility is emerging in our leading local corporations. The event was hosted by Compass Group and moderated by chapter senior advisors and CoreNet Global MCR Faculty members Koo MacQueen and Chris LaPata. Thank you to everyone who came out to our Networking with a Mission event on February 21st at AvidXchange's beautiful new HQ at the NC Music Factory. Attendees enjoyed networking, cocktails, and giving back to our community by supporting the Second Harvest Food Bank. Members and guests brought non-perishable food items to be donated to Second Harvest's food stores.

On January 11th, CoreNet Carolinas members in the Raleigh area met at Vidrio in the downtown area. The beautiful location allowed for great networking and catching up with friends and peers. A good crowd came out to help us start 2018 off right as we look forward to a great year for both our industry and our association.

The last networking event of the year was a great success with plenty of networking and catching up with friends and peers. A large bundle of toys was collected for the Marine Toys for Tots drive and CoreNet provided the Marines with a check for $1,000.

The Carolinas Chapter of CoreNet Global hosted our second annual CORE Awards for the Carolinas on November 16th at the NASCAR Hall of Fame. A tremendous crowd joined us for the evening as we celebrated the excellence and effectiveness of CRE professionals and the CRE industry in the Carolinas.

8/16/17 - Charlotte, NC -- Charlotte CRC - Sweat Equity - Beds for Kids
Thank you to everyone who came out on August 16th to perform a variety of service projects for Beds for Kids, a not-for-profit organization that provides beds to children and families in need in the Charlotte area. Members cleaned furniture, moved and staged furniture, and helped organize and pack bed linens. CoreNet Carolinas made a donation of $1,000 to Beds for Kids.

On August 3rd at the Blue Cross Blue Shield offices in Durham, CoreNet members, speakers and guests explored the intersections of social evolution and emerging technologies in the past, present, and future at our Workplace Genesis event. Our speakers presented a lively discussion of how these intersections have, are, and will shape our workplace.
7/12/17 - Charlotte, NC -- Charlotte Program - Lean Construction
On July 12th, Bevan Mace, Balfour Beatty's Lean expert, provided an overview of Lean design and project delivery principles. He discussed the goal of Lean Construction - maximizing value and minimizing waste - and provided an overview of a case study showcasing how Lean can improve participant's projects. The Business Journal's Ashley Fahey wrote a piece on the event.
6/24/17 - Charlotte, NC -- Charlotte Networking with a Mission: Habitat for Humanity
CoreNet members rolled up their sleeves and put their DIY skills to good use on June 24th assisting Habitat for Humanity with one of their home build projects in Charlotte. Volunteers spent the day working on a variety of construction needs, including hanging sheet rock within the interior of the home. Thank you to everyone who came out to support Habitat and help CoreNet give back to our community.

The DPR offices in Raleigh played host to our June 8th Raleigh Young Leaders Event - Cornhole Tournament. Twelve teams battled it out in friendly competition for bragging rights. A strong crowd enjoyed local and global perspectives on coworking user-needs and design from panelists Jason Widen of Forward Impact, Melissa Sayre from Industrious and Alison Briggs from Gensler. 4/26/17 - Charlotte, NC -- Coworking: An Office Revolution
On April 26th, CoreNet Carolinas members and guests gathered at the Foundation for the Carolinas in Uptown Charlotte for a panel discussion addressing how coworking has exploded on the office scene and is no longer a use limited to start-up companies. The expert panel provided key insights to this growing segment of office market. Thank you to everyone who came out and supported this event.
4/19/17 - Charlotte, NC -- Networking with a Mission Classroom Central
Thank you to everyone who came out on Wednesday, April 19th to Draught for our second Networking with a Mission event for 2017. This time we collected school supplies for Classroom Central. Items collected during the night included loose leaf paper, composition books, crayons, colored pencils, and erasers. Also at the event, CoreNet Carolinas also made a $1,000 donation to Classroom Central.
4/06/17 - Raleigh, NC -- Habitat for Humanity
On April 6th, the Raleigh CRC held their Habitat for Humanity service project. Carolinas chapter members put their DIY skills to good use for a good cause, working on one of the many Habitat for Humanity home projects. Thank you to everyone who came out to support this great event for a great cause. At the end of the day, CoreNet Carolinas also presented Habitat with a check for $2,000.
3/08/17 - Charlotte, NC -- Charlotte Reverse Mentoring
Thank you to everyone who came out for the March 8th Reverse Mentoring event at the Broken Spoken in Charlotte; the event was well attended and provided an excellent opportunity for cross-generational understanding. Taylor Bredow of Balfour Beatty, Zach Simpson of Savills Studley and Max Gebhart of Network Cabling Systems all offered their perspectives into the unique workplace needs of the millennial workforce.

On March 8th, the Young Leaders hosted the Raleigh Reverse Mentoring event at Big Boss Brewing Company. An ample crowd came out to listen to Caitlin Shelby of Wood Partners, Ana Marshall of Red Hat, George Hining of MHA Works Architecture, and Matt Wall of DPR Construction provided their unique perspectives into cross-generational workspace needs. 2/15/17 - Charlotte, NC -- Charlotte Networking with a Mission
Thank you to the CoreNet Carolinas CRC Committee for all that they put into the planning and execution of the February 15th event at Draught in Charlotte. With over 70 people in attendance, 238 pounds of canned food collected and $120.00 in onsite monetary donations made, the event was a huge success. CoreNet Carolinas also provided a donation of $1000 to the Second Harvest Food Bank of Metrolina.

On February 2nd, Joe Stewart, Executive Director of the NC Free Enterprise Foundation addressed a large crowd of attendees on Lenovo’s campus in Morrisville. Stewart explained the outcome of recent elections and how the recent changes in the political arena may impact the real estate community. 01/17/17 - Charlotte, NC -- 7th Annual Economic Update
On January 17th at the Foundation for the Carolinas, we hosted John E. Connaughton, Ph.D., Professor of Economics at UNCC Belk College of Business and Director of the Barings/UNC Charlotte Economic Forecast, which is recognized as the leading source of economic information for North Carolina. Dr. Connaughton presented our 7th Annual Economic Update to a full house of members and guests.
01/05/17 - Raleigh, NC -- 2017 Raleigh Kick-Off
Members, sponsors and guests from across the Carolinas rang in the new year on Thursday, January 5th at one of Raleigh's coziest dining spots, Gallo Pelon. A strong crowd started 2017 off right by gathered together for an evening of great conversation, cocktails + hors d'oeuvres. On December 6th the Raleigh-area CoreNet Carolinas members and guests came out to Vita Vite Art Gallery and Wine Bar for their annual social and networking event. The event was well attended and everyone enjoyed an evening at one of Raleigh's premiere downtown wine bar, art gallery and events venue. We ended 2016 on a great note and we look forward to more successful networking and education events in 2017.

11/10/16 - Charlotte, NC -- Inaugural Carolinas Core Awards Event
On November 10th, the Carolinas Chapter of CoreNet Global hosted the Inaugural CORE Awards for the Carolinas at the NASCAR Hall of Fame in Uptown Charlotte. The CORE Awards event celebrated excellence and effectiveness of CRE professionals and the CRE industry in the Carolinas. The event honored five individuals within different categories. The nominees were from twelve firms that are highly involved in CoreNet and the CRE industry in the Carolinas region. Keep checking back for more details on the winners of the event.
8/18/16 - Charlotte, NC -- Charlotte Reverse Mentoring Event Draws Strong Crowd for Millennial Mindset Discussion
On August 18th at the UNC Charlotte Center City building, a panel of young leaders met with CoreNet members and industry professionals to discuss the millennials mindset in the workplace. The panel consisted of an end user, project manager, engineer, broker, and vendor making up a major portion of the commercial real estate process. A great crowd turned out to support the young leaders at their sponsored event.

On July 13th in the Chancellor's Ballroom of NC State University's State Club, CoreNet members and industry professionals came together to discuss the competitive advantages helping to shape Raleigh's commercial real estate future. The lively discussion was led by Michael Landguth, President and CEO of the Raleigh-Durham Airport Authority, and Adrienne Cole, Executive Director of Wake County Economic Development. We enjoyed a tremendous turnout and we thank everyone for coming out and making this event the success that it was.
7/20/16 - Charlotte, NC -- Market Game Changers Draws a Crowd in Charlotte for Lively Commercial Real Estate Discussion
On July 20th, a strong crowd came out to the Foundation of the Carolinas to discuss the competitive advantages helping to shape Charlotte's commercial real estate future. Attendees heard from Bob Morgan, President and CEO of the Charlotte Chamber of Commerce, Jack Christine, Deputy Aviation Director of Charlotte Douglas International Airport (CLT) and Karen Bertaux, Chief Financial Officer of AvidXchange. The event provided an engaging forum for discuss on what our city has to offer and what this means to the commercial real estate industry.
6/3/16 - Raleigh, NC -- CoreNet Carolinas Members Come Out to Volunteer
with Beds for Kids in Raleigh
On Friday, June 3rd, members of CoreNet Carolinas volunteered at the Beds for Kids warehouse. We had 12 people attend and we cleaned and moved furniture that had been donated and helped load some trucks for deliveries. Everyone who participated loved the purpose and mission of Beds for Kids and would look forward to a return visit should we ever decide to volunteer with their organization again.
